ABOUT BEN: Page One

Ben was born in Seattle, Washington and grew up in the nearby suburb of Kent (think small town). To this day, it still has its good share of pastures and horse fields.
Ben grew up as the shy, geeky type and had a lot of friends growing up .. most of them the imaginary kind but ..ermm..anyway ... Ben definitely developed his creative side as a young'n and as a latch key kid, relying on his imagination for hours of non-stop entertainment.
Though Ben's favorite subjects were English and Writing, he eventually graduated with a Bachelors in Computer Science at Harvey Mudd College. He currently works as a senior systems administrator with side projects including web/database work, video production, and photo slideshow production.

Ben's exposure to music came at an early age as he took up the violin (and a bit of piano) at age 4. His parents also played a lot of "boring old people music" (a.k.a. opera, classical, and showtunes) around the house and on their many long roadtrips (who would have thought that today Ben would still enjoy that "boring old people music"?).
Ben first started swing dancing in March of 1998, where he went to the Derby with some old school friends. It took Ben a long time to get the hang of swing dancing, but he persisted and today he has met many of his closest friends through swing dancing... most notably, his wife!!
