Top 10 Ways Swing Dancing Can Change Your Life!
What a title for an article, eh?
Now I wasn't sure which way to go with this. There certainly are a lot of ways swing dancing has changed my life and can change yours too (does that sound too informercial-ly?) ... and to write about all of them would be... well, I wouldn't have enough time to do it all in one sitting.
But here are the Top 10 Ways Swing Dancing Can Change Your Life! (in no particular order)
10: Increasing Confidence
Swing dancing has a systematic way to build confidence if you follow the "rules". More about that in a future article.
9: Losing weight
Yes, it's a good way to be active!
8: Gaining weight
subtitled: "A new appreciation for 24 hour drive-ins"
7: Decreasing your net worth
It certainly can be expensive .... new clothes, shoes, cover charge, lessons, gas, videos, etc... Fortunately, being home less helps as that lowers your electricity bill. Subtitled: "Who would have ever thought we would be out partying on a weeknight?"
6: Increasing your net worth
Winning contests, teaching, putting out DVD's, etc...
5: Travel more
So many reasons to travel.. exchanges, competitions, camps, etc...
4: Have I mentioned "Decreasing your net worth" ?
As you start to compete and travel more: hotels, plane fare, more gas, competition fees, etc..
3: Getting a nickname!
Dippin Bill, Sailor Mike, Ben of Ben and Sheri, etc..
2: Increasing the time it takes to prepare taxes
If you make money swing dancing .... opens up a world of possibilities doesn't it?
And The Number One (1) Way That Swing Dancing Can Change Your Life!!
Meeting LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of great people!!!
Many of my good friends I met through swing dancing (Hi Debbie Gitt). In fact, many of my closest friends I met through swing dancing (Hi Jenny Kim). And of course my closest friend (my wife) I met through swing dancing! (Hi Sheri-Ann!)
And there you have it! See you on the dance floor!
