Class Descriptions:
East Coast Swing 1 (Beginning/Intermediate): 6:30pm - 7:30pm
No experience required. As a matter of fact, no coordination required. Sam and Jasmine are great teachers for the new dancer. You will be up and dancing full songs probably by the end of the second lesson. East Coast Swing is one of the easiest swing dances to learn and is a great launching pad to other swing dances. Come learn some East Coast Swing and get those feet moving!
Lindy 1 (Beginning/Intermediate): 7:30pm - 8:30pm
No experience required. As a matter of fact, no coordination required. Evolution of one right foot and one left not required either. Laughing at our jokes is required but that's about it. We start from the very beginning and will have you up and dancing by the end of the first lesson. After that first lesson we spend the rest of the month teaching a wide variety of foundational material. This is great for beginners up to intermediate dancers and should be repeated until you are ready for the intermediate/advanced class. We minimize overlap of material from month to month as well. It's a great way to be active, have fun, and even learn fundamental Lindy Hop!
Lindy 2 (Intermediate/Advanced): 8:30pm - 9:30pm
May Theme: We will teach a new Lindy routine!
MAY 7: Patrick and Debbie will be our special guest substitute teachers!!
Minimum of Lindy I series twice or equivalent PLUS instructor approval. In Lindy II we have a wide variety of material we teach from month to month including various themes and electives. And we keep the class open and flexible and will gladly spend time exploring different ideas relevant to Lindy Hop so feel free to bring your questions and requests!
For Balboa 1 class, no partner or experience required. Tise Chao teaches the fundamentals of Balboa (mostly "pure" Balboa) for this class. You will get a great foundation from one of the most well known teachers of Balboa.
For Balboa 2 class, experience is required and instructor approval is required. Ben and Tise will teach more dynamic combinations with Balboa and Bal-Swing in the intermediate class while keeping you in touch with good fundamentals.
