Intermediate/Advanced Workshop
"Get To The Next Level"

Intermediate/Advanced to Advanced Dancers
You should ideally be pretty solid in your three T's (Technique/Timing/Teamwork). But don't worry, we will still go over them and then go beyond them (mostly in a competition context).

What do you mean exactly?
Technique, Timing, and Teamwork: executing patterns, staying on time, and having a sense of musicality. We will discuss this. And then beyond that - what is next? That is what this workshop will also cover. Over many years of competition we've accumulated knowledge by getting valuable feedback from respected judges. Using this, we'll give you tips and tools to help you with these intangibles.

Not to mention we have judged a number of competitions (in fact Ben will be judging the January 25th LindyGroove competition) which has given us even more insight into advanced dancing.

So if I am not a competitive dancer, can I get something out of this?
Possibly. There are many different aspects to social dancing and as a social dancer you can choose which of those aspects mean the most to you. One aspect of advanced social dancing is performance related: making your dancing look attractive, and inviting spectators into your dance. So even though this is primarily a competition-based workshop, if this is an aspect you care about, then you will get something out of this workshop you can apply to your social dancing.

Also, if you simply are curious about the competition experience, this will on its own be a fascinating workshop giving insight into the world of competitions. We have taught abbreviated versions of this workshop and have had non-competitive dancers attend and tell us how much they enjoyed our material.

Workshop Schedule:

PLEASE NOTE: We will start promptly at 10:00am and need to be out of the studio by 1:15pm! Inside those hours, as with all of our more advanced workshops, we tend to keep the structure flexible. We are very open to exploring relevant and interesting tangents.

PLEASE NOTE: There is no break for lunch. You can snack/drink water but we are going straight through the three hours. There is a water vending machine at the studio where you can buy water for a dollar.

NO PARTNER REQUIRED. Int/Adv to Adv only please.
